Baby, its cold outside...

If you haven't heard, its cold here in the midwest. Here in the Chicago Metro area, we get nearly every type of weather there is. There is a saying that if you don't like the weather in Chicago, wait 5 minutes. In a 24 hour period we can have snow, rain, and sun along with a 50 degree temperature change. But today, well, today I woke up, rolled over, and heard a strange ripping sound. At first I thought it was my pajamas (they are VERY old and comfy, but since they have been washed about 1000 times, possibly a bit fragile) so I turned on my light. Nope... pajamas are fine. I began to get up... heard it again... Now I was really confused. I look towards my window only to find my blanket was FROZEN TO MY WINDOW. What? Yes. Its that cold.

Happy Thanksgiving...

Putting aside the historical inacuracies of Thanksgiving, sometimes it is important to take the time to count your blessings. Especially in this current economy, we still have so much to be thankful for. Just a reminder to take a moment and think about the things you are thankful for...

I am thankful for: (In no particular order)
Little blue birdies.

Big brothers

My grandma is ok.

The chance to go back to school.

Cheese.

My mommy who helps me even when I am too stubborn to ask.

My daddy's home made apple pie.

My daddy's home made lemon meringue pie.

My daddy's home made coconut cream pie.

Books.

Lattes.

Yes, we can- and we did...

I have been meaning to post for a few days now... things have been busy.

Its an amazing thing. My country came together, mostly, and made history. It was huge.

I am not going to wax poetic about it, but I must say, the world does feel different now. Sure, the economy still sucks, Chicago is still the murder capital of the world, we still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, but there is hope. There is the feeling that people made a difference.

I do have a wish list for the next president... but I will get to that later.

For today, I just wanted to say... Yes, we can...and we did.

turns out...

I was just really bored...
