Registration...

So, today I went to register for school. Graduate School. It is actually happening. Everyone on campus was REALLY nice. I will have an email that ends with .edu again. I won't be attending classes down there though... thank goodness, because getting there was a pain. Traffic makes me twitch. Although the campus was really beautiful. It looked like a college should. Ivy covered walls, old buildings, stately staircases, I wandered around a bit and there was one room, I think it was part of a dining hall, that looked right out of Harry Potter. It was beautiful. I am officially a student. I have the card to prove it.

I am also starting to get some school supplies together. I am not sure what all I will need. Post-its were on clearance at Target so I stocked up- this should last me through the semester- I hope.

Graduate school- here I come. Gulp.

Wii!!!!

Yes. I did it. I got a Wii. Its pretty fun. Fairly realistic. I played the bowling game and got 71. Which is about right. I am not very good at bowling. it has a LOT of cords coming out of it. Tons of bits. Anyway, I hope to have my Grandma over to play some games with me... We enjoy the scrabble, who is to say we won't love a good game of wii bowling or wii tennis.

Banana Bread

I did it, and I think it was a success. At least everyone enjoyed it.
The bottom was a bit overdone, I think I will try a glass pan next time.

I gave part of it to my BigBro, left a slice for Grandma Betty for breakfast. Gave one to Renee. Sent one slice home with Grandma Maryanne. The rest was mine. So far, nobody has complained- except that there wasn't more. Hey! We only had two bananas and it was really hot out. As far as I am concerned there was a TON of baking/cooking happening around here for 90 degree weather. More on the big birthday meal later...

Banana Bread
3/4 c sugar
1/2 c butter
2 eggs
1 c mashed ripe banana (about 2)
1/3 c milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 c flour
1/2 c nuts
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Pre-Heat Oven to 350.
Grease loaf pan.
In one bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, set aside. (I dumped it onto a chopping mat) In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, milk and beat until smooth. Add banana and blend. Combine dry ingredients and nuts to bowl and mix until all moist. Pour into loaf pan and bake until toothpick comes out clean, about 50 minutes.

Next time I might add some chocolate chips.

Anyway. Next post I will discuss the Birthday meal for my BigBro. It was quite the undertaking but it was also a great success. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
