Public library denies 4 year old a library card

Because he couldn't write his name in the little box. Apparently that is their rule. Wonder if they would deny an war vet a library card if he lost his/her limbs a library card... It is SO wrong on SO many levels. According to the Library Bill of Rights (per the ALA, of which I am a member...) A person’s right to use a library should not be denied or abridged because of origin, age, background, or views. They need to issue that child a library card and an apology!
